American vs. Canadian attitudes

More thoughts on differences in the Canadian and American psyches.

“Peace, order and good government” – Main principles of Canada’s Confederation.

“Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness” – Starting point for American independence.

Multiculturalism. Melting pot.

These foundational attitudes are certainly indicative, if not explanatory.

  1. You forgot the biggest one in my opinion. With the socialist public education system – Canadian history has been changed from Vimy Ridge, D-Day etc – to “We're not Americans. We have peace keepers and free health care.” When your heritage is based not on what you are and have done, but on what you aren't and a government program – it doesn't look good going forward.
